He said this at the ‘Director General’s Appreciation’ ceremony for officers and employees of all levels at the Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters on July 19, 2026 at 10 am. At the ceremony, 136 officers and employees selected from across the country who have made special contributions to administrative and operational work were awarded the Director General’s Appreciation. Upon arriving at the program at 10:00 AM, the Director General was greeted respectfully by Director ( Training, Planning and Development ) Lt. Col. MA Azad Anwar, PSC. Before the program began, a minute of silence was observed to pray for the forgiveness of the soul of the recently deceased diver Sadiq. Then the program began with the reading of the holy scriptures. Religious teacher Muhaddis Kazi Sharifullah read from the scriptures. After the reading of the scriptures, the Director ( Training , Planning and Development ) gave a welcome speech. Then the Director General presented the Director General’s appreciation insignia, certificates and cash awards to the selected 136 officers and employees in turn. In his reaction, Deputy Assistant Director of Netrokona District Mr. Zakir Hossain expressed gratitude for the introduction of the ‘ Director General’s Appreciation’ award. He appreciated the Director General’s supervision over the administrative and operational work of the entire country and for this he expressed his sincere gratitude to the Director General. Then, the Director ( Administration and Finance ) of the Department, Mr. Md. Shahid Atahar Hossain, delivered a speech. In his speech as the chief guest, the Director General expressed satisfaction with the response and operational activities of the Fire Service in various accidents across the country. Praising the overall activities of the Fire Service in the floods and landslides in the Chittagong region, he called for giving utmost importance to the performance of professional duties . Mentioning the priority of protecting life and property, he said, ‘Since they are service-oriented organizations, the performance of professional duties of the Fire Service and Civil Defense must be given utmost importance. ‘At the event, Director of the Department (Oprn: and Main:) Lt. Col. Md. Mahmudul Hasan, PSC requested everyone to be aware of the use of social media. The event was attended by all levels of officials and employees working in Dhaka, including the Project Director, Managing Director of the Welfare Trust. In addition, the Divisional Deputy Directors of all departments and district officers were connected online from their respective workplaces.
