For the past few years, the road from Satmatha to Jahaj Company Intersection in the city has been filled with large potholes and ditches. The city residents have taken to the streets several times demanding the repair of that road. At one stage of the movement, the road was declared dead and a funeral procession was held, and at another stage, saplings were planted on the road and blindfolded.
Finally, as a result of the tireless efforts of the city administrator, the road renovation work was inaugurated at Satmatha Chattar on Sunday (July 12) at 12 noon. The renovation work was inaugurated by Advocate Mahfuz Un Nabi Don, administrator of Rangpur City Corporation.
Regarding the work, it is known from the City Corporation that under the Local Government Covid 19 Response and Recovery Project, this time the 4-kilometer road will be carpeted, drained and installed with LED lights. The renovation cost has been estimated at 20 crore 67 lakh 72 thousand 740 taka. The renovation includes carpeting, RCC road, RCC drain, sidewalk tiles, road divider, road separator, light pole, smart LED street light installation. Which is scheduled to be completed in December.
Meanwhile, the city residents have expressed satisfaction over the inauguration of the renovation work of one of the city’s main roads. Once the road is renovated, there will be no more traffic problems. They believe that the city residents will be able to travel without any problems. At the same time, the city residents have called on the City Corporation authorities to ensure that the contractor does the work properly and delivers it on time.
After inaugurating the renovation work, Rasik Administrator Advocate Mahfuz Un Nabi Don said that traffic was having problems as the road had not been renovated for a long time. After taking charge as the administrator, initiatives were taken to renovate the road. Some things have been added to the renovation of the road. This road will be a complete road within the Rangpur City Corporation. RCC drains, sidewalk tiles, road dividers, road separators, light poles, smart LED street lights will be installed on this road. Due to which the road will be transformed into a clean road within the city. Later, other roads in the city will also be renovated on the model of this road.
