One sentenced to death in Khagrachari child rape case

A court has sentenced Md. Shahin, accused in the child rape case in Ramgarh, Khagrachari, to death. Judge Shayla Sharmin of the Child Violence Prevention Tribunal delivered the verdict on Monday (July 6) afternoon. At that time, the accused Md. A court has sentenced Md. Shahin, accused in the child rape case in Ramgarh, Khagrachari, to death. Judge Shayla Sharmin of the Child Violence Prevention Tribunal delivered the verdict on Monday (July 6) afternoon. At that time, the accused Md. Shahin was present in the court. 

State lawyer Srijani Tripura expressed satisfaction with the verdict in just one year, saying that justice has been ensured through this.

It is learned that on July 25 last year, accused Md. Shahin raped a seven-year-old second-grade madrasa student in Ramgarh, Khagrachari, by luring her with food. The police have arrested the accused tea shop owner Md. Shahin (53) in this incident.

However, the defendant’s lawyer Bedarul Islam said he would appeal the verdict to the High Court.
