Police have arrested eight people, including four casino gambling, in a separate raid in Kishoreganj, Nilphamari.
Kishoreganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Lutfar Rahman confirmed the matter
on Sunday (June 28) afternoon. Earlier, they were arrested in separate raids last night.
Those arrested for casino gambling and drug use are: Monikul Islam (30), son of the late
Abtaf Ali of Panialpukur area of Nitai Union, Sayedee Islam (21), son of Manjab Ali,
Sayem Islam (19), son of Abdul Hakim of Mushrut Balapara area, and Dalim Mia (20),
son of Mohidul Islam. The arrested are: Atikuzzaman Anik (26), son of Razzak of
Bazedumaria area of Sadar Upazila, Ashraful Alam Milon (40), son of the late Zahir
Uddin, Saju Mia (23), son of Majnu Mia, and Deepil Roy (28), son of the late Tepu
Barman. Police said that four people were arrested while playing online casino gambling
from Bazedumaria area of Sadar Union based on secret information last night. On the
other hand, police arrested four more people based on secret information while
consuming drugs in Panialpukur area of Nitai Union late at night. In this regard,
Kishoreganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Lutfar Rahman said, four people were
arrested while gambling in a casino and four people were arrested while consuming drugs
during a drive last night. Two separate cases have been filed against them and they have
been sent to jail through the court.
