District Council Administrator Alhaj Sirajul Islam (Siraj) has visited five union parishads for the first time since taking charge in Kasba Upazila of Brahmanbaria. From Monday (June 15) morning to afternoon, he visited Binauti, Mulgram, Badoir, and Khadera union parishads of Akhaura Upazila, Dharkhar, and Kasba Upazila.

During the visit, he exchanged views with the chairman and members of the Union Parishad and inquired about the quality of public services, ongoing activities and various problems. At that time, the chairmen highlighted various limitations and development-related issues in their areas. They said that it was not long before that any district council administrator came directly to the union council and inspected the problems and activities. At the meeting, District Council Administrator Alhaj Sirajul Islam said that the union councils are closely related to the district council. But many people do not know about the activities of the district council. In the past, I have heard that some people tried to buy a vote in the district council chairman elections by paying from 50 thousand to 1 lakh or 1.5 lakh taka. It is said in the hadith, ‘As you are, so will your ruler be.’ So I want to work with you in rural development through transparency and accountability. He also said that you will contact me for any need and have an open discussion about development. My goal is to ensure that the development of the Zilla Parishad reaches the people in real terms. Prayers and supplications are held after the exchange of views in each union. In addition, tree plantation programs are also held as part of environmental conservation and greening.
