7 arrested including accused in Brahmanbaria Sarail murder case
A total of seven people, including one accused in a murder case, have been arrested in a special operation conducted by Sarail Police Station in Brahmanbaria, a press release from Sarail Police Station said on Wednesday (June 10). The press release mentioned that in the special operation conducted in the last 24 hours, one accused in a murder case, one accused with a warrant, one accused on charges of cultivating marijuana, and four people on charges of drug use have been arrested. A total of seven people, including one accused in a murder case, have been arrested in a special operation conducted by Sarail Police Station in Brahmanbaria, a press release from Sarail Police Station said on Wednesday (June 10).
The press release mentioned that in the special operation conducted in the last 24 hours, one accused in a murder case, one accused with a warrant, one accused on charges of cultivating marijuana, and four people on charges of drug use have been arrested.
The accused in the murder case arrested is Md. Billal (30) of Syedtula Uttarpara area of the upazila. He is the son of Dulal Mia. He was arrested as an accused in the murder case filed under Section 34 of the Penal Code, Case No. 39, dated May 31, 2026, of Sarail Police Station. The operation was led by SI (Unarmed) Mohammad Tanvir Bhuiyan.
Besides, Md. Sohel of Chanpur village, an accused in a case under the Dowry Prohibition Act, was arrested. He was arrested by ASI (Unarmed) Abdus Salam.
In the same operation, Asad Ali (40) of Syedtula Paschimpara area was arrested with marijuana plants. ASI (Unarmed) Sultan Hossain participated in the operation. Police said that necessary legal action is under process in this incident.
On the other hand, Lokman (29) of Karatkandi village, Faruk Mia of Chanpur, Lyon (20) of Bara Gunara area and Farhad (27) of Bariura village were arrested for drug consumption. The operation was conducted by SI (unarmed) Yunus Mia.
Sarail Police Station said that legal action is underway against the arrested persons. Such special operations will continue in the future to curb crime and maintain law and order.
