The District Detective Branch (DB) police arrested a fraudster at 2 pm today on charges of impersonating a senior police and administration official in Naogaon.
Four mobile phones and a total of 38 SIM cards from different companies used in the fraud were seized from the arrested Md. Naim Hossain.
Police said that accused Naeem Hossain had been extorting money from ordinary people by posing as a District Commissioner (DC), Superintendent of Police (SP) or CID officer for a long time. Several people have already fallen victim to his fraud.
Based on the complaint, a team of DB police arrested him from the Santahar area, conducting a raid with the help of information technology.
Legal action is underway against him in this incident.
