60 women in Brahmanbaria receive sewing machines for economic liberation
Engineer Khaled Hossain Mahbub Shyamal, the economic affairs secretary of the central BNP and member of parliament for Brahmanbaria-3 (Sadar and Bijoynagar) constituency, has announced that sewing training will be provided through BGMEA to make women in Brahmanbaria economically self-reliant. Engineer Khaled Hossain Mahbub Shyamal, the economic affairs secretary of the central BNP and member of parliament for Brahmanbaria-3 (Sadar and Bijoynagar) constituency, has announced that sewing training will be provided through BGMEA to make women in Brahmanbaria economically self-reliant.
He made the announcement as the chief guest at a ceremony to distribute sewing machines among 60 working women funded by the Zilla Parishad to eliminate unemployment and create employment on Wednesday, June 3 at noon at the Sarod stage of Sur Samrat Di Alauddin Sangeetangana in Brahmanbaria city.
Chief guest Engineer Khaled Hossain Mahbub Shyamal said, “Due to our social system, many girls are still married off at a young age. As a result, they are subjected to various forms of neglect in the family and society. To ensure the dignity and empowerment of women, it is necessary to make them economically self-reliant.”
He said, “There is no alternative to training to turn the women of Brahmanbaria into skilled manpower. Sewing training will be arranged in collaboration with BGMEA, so that women can change their fate by getting employment opportunities.” He also emphasized the need to establish industrial parks in the district to increase women’s employment.
The program was presided over by Brahmanbaria District Council Administrator Md. Sirajul Islam Siraj, and Abdul Qadir Mia, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the District Council, delivered the welcome speech.
President of the event and District Council Administrator Sirajul Islam said, “Men don’t know about the pot. The women of the house take care of the pot. If the women of the house are successful, they are valued in the house and in society.”
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Ehsan Murad, Additional Superintendent of Police Obaidur Rahman, former Mayor Hafizur Rahman Molla Kochi, District BNP Vice President Shafiqul Islam, Brahmanbaria Press Club President Javed Rahim Bijon, among others, were present as special guests.
Yasmin Akhter and female entrepreneur Laila spoke on behalf of the women who received sewing machines at the event. At the end of the event, the chief guest and other guests handed over sewing machines to 60 women.
