Police have recovered the body of a man named Abdur Rashid Sheikh (52) hanging from a tree in Gobindaganj, Gaibandha.

The body was recovered from a tree in Rampura village of Harirampur union of the upazila on Tuesday (June 2) morning.

The deceased was Abdur Rashid Sheikh, son of Mozammel Haque Sheikh of Rampura village.

Locals said that villagers found the body hanging from a tree in the morning and informed the police. Upon receiving the information, Gobindaganj Police Station recovered the body and sent it to the Gaibandha General Hospital morgue.

Gobindaganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Muhammad Mozammel Haque said that initially the cause of death was not known. Investigation is underway and the real cause of death will be known once the autopsy report is received.
