Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) celebrated its Graduation Day 2026 on Thursday with festivity, emotion and pride as 293 graduates from the Winter 2024 term were formally honoured. for completing their academic journey. The graduates represented four faculties under the programmes of BS in Agriculture, BS in Fisheries, BS in Agricultural Economics and Rural Development and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). The day began with a colourful procession led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. GKM Mustafizur Rahman, joined by graduates, faculty members and university officials, parading through the campus before concluding near Begum Sufia Kamal Auditorium. The session was conducted by registrar Md. Abdullah Mridha. A discussion session was later held at the auditorium in the presence of senior university. officials, faculty members, students and guardians. During the programme, the graduates shared emotional reflections on their academic journey, while the vice-chancellor handed over certificates and crests to the graduates. Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. GKM Mustafizur Rahman said Bangladesh’s food self-sufficiency is a result of the tireless contribution of the country’s agricultural professionals and urged the graduates to equip themselves with multidisciplinary knowledge to become future leaders in the sector. He also said GAU has grown into one of the country’s leading universities, with its academic curriculum increasingly serving as a model for other institutions. The campus wore a festive look throughout the day with decorations, banners, photo booths and reunion gatherings, as graduates celebrated the milestone with teachers, friends and family. Graduation Day 2026 marked not only the culmination of years of hard work, but also the beginning of a new journey for GAU’s newest graduates.
