A helper has died after being crushed
by a bus wheel in Kishoreganj, Nilphamari. The incident occurred (02 March 2026) at 4 pm on
Thursday. The deceased helper is identified as Merajul Islam (35), a helper of the deceased
Merajul Haque Soumi Parivan of Mokamtala, Bogra. Faisal Hossain, supervisor of Soumi
Paribahan, said that when the Soumi Paribahan Dhaka Metro-B-15-8613 bus, which left Dimla
and was heading towards Bogra, came to a place adjacent to Dharer Bazar, the driver Saiful
Islam tried to overtake a truck and the bus was about to overturn. When the helper of that
vehicle, Merajul Haque, jumped to save him, his foot got stuck and he fell down and was crushed
by the wheels of the bus and died on the spot. Upon receiving the information, the police brought
the Soumi Paribahan bus and the body of the deceased Merajul Islam from the scene to
Kishoreganj Police Station. Kishoreganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Lutfar Rahman
confirmed the matter and said that the matter is currently under investigation.
