A person was arrested with 3 kg of marijuana during a search at a check post in Naikshongchhari

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested a person with 3 kg of marijuana during a search at the Naikshongchhari Jaruliachhari check post in Bandarban. On Monday (April 6), around 10 am, BGB members on duty at the Adarshgram check post under the Naikshongchhari Battalion (11 BGB) conducted the search based on a secret tip-off. The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested a person with 3 kg of marijuana during a search at the Naikshongchhari Jaruliachhari check post in Bandarban.
On Monday (April 6), around 10 am, BGB members on duty at the Adarshgram check post under the Naikshongchhari Battalion (11 BGB) conducted the search based on a secret tip-off.
According to BGB sources, when a CNG vehicle heading to Naikshongchhari from Ramu was searched, the accused was found with 3 kg of marijuana hidden in his stomach and legs. He was arrested at that time.
The arrested person is Md. Yunus Sikder (45).  He is the son of the late Mozaffar Ahmed Sikder of Paschim Titarpara village of Kachchhpia union in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.
Naikxhongchhari police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Baten Mridha confirmed that the BGB has filed a case under the Narcotics Control Act in this incident.
Sources said that further legal action against the detained person is under process.
