Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, NDC, AFWC, PSC, Director General of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Department, has called for putting the interests of the organization above everything else. He said these things at a darbar program organized for officers and employees of all levels at the Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters on October 27 at 10:30 am. Officers and employees of all levels working in Dhaka, including directors, were present at the program. In addition, divisional deputy directors of all departments and district officers participated in the darbar program online from their respective workplaces.
Upon arriving at the darbar ceremony at 10:30 am, Director (Ope: & Main:) Lt. Col. Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury, SGP, PSC, respectfully greeted the Director General and handed over the darbar. Then, Muhaddis Kazi Sharif Ullah, the religious teacher of the department, read from the religious scriptures. After that, the Director General began receiving his darbar.
He welcomed everyone and outlined the steps taken and development work undertaken during his tenure in the Fire Service and Civil Defence. He expressed his sincere gratitude to all the members of the force for earning the appreciation of the people of the country through operational work. To continue this trend, he called on everyone to put the interests of the organization above their own interests. The Director General also called on the general public to be aware so that the increase in the number of fires during the dry season can be reduced. He instructed all the officers and employees to continue the ongoing awareness activities of the Fire Service.
At the end of the ceremony, the Director General handed over the Swarak Medal sent by the Myanmar government to 10 members who participated in the Myanmar earthquake. Then, the Director General presented commendation awards to those who participated in various professional competitions of the Fire Service at the departmental and central levels and who demonstrated special skills in administrative work. Insignia, certificates and cash were given as awards. This is the first time that the award is organized under the title of ‘Director General’s Appreciation’ to encourage the personnel of this force to be more efficient and sincere in their professional work.
