A discussion meeting was held with the Proctor of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) Associate Professor Dr. Sheikh Farhad and the leaders of the Diploma Engineers Association of Bangladesh (DUAB) USA branch. The discussion meeting, organized on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Mezzanine Party Hall, Jamaica, was presided over by the president of the organization, Engineer Sharif Chowdhury, Pappu. Jointly moderated by the general secretaries of the nationalist Diploma Engineers Association of Bangladesh (DEAB) USA branch, Engineer Main Uddin Miyaji, Mamun Hossain Biplob and the president of Friends Society USA in, Saiduzzaman Rinku, the keynote speaker was Maulana Wali Ullah Md. Atiqur Rahman, president of New York State BNP. The special guest was the general secretary of New York State BNP, Saidur Rahman Sayed.

In his speech as the chief guest, BMU’s  Proctor Dr. Sheikh Farhad said, the previous fascist Awami League government had taken away the people’s freedom of speech and right to vote. It had taken away all the rights of the people. The current government has freed the countrymen from that suffocating situation. The countrymen will get a taste of complete freedom through the completion of the national elections in the future. However, a conspiracy is going on regarding the national elections. Attempts are being made to sabotage the elections. So that no one can sabotage the national elections, the countrymen and the expatriates must be vigilant. Mentioning the contribution of the expatriates in various movements and struggles including the great liberation war of 1971, the mass uprising of 1990, and the mass uprising of July 24, Dr. Sheikh Farhad said, the expatriates stood by the BNP during its difficult times in the past. If the national elections are held in a fair and democratic manner in the future, democracy will be established in Bangladesh and the rights of the people will be established. Therefore, national elections are essential for democracy. Therefore, the countrymen and the expatriates must be vigilant so that no evil force can thwart the national elections in the coming days. Care must be taken that the fascist force is not rehabilitated. Martyr President Ziaur Rahman has made outstanding contributions to the development of Bangladesh. His wife, Begum Khaleda Zia, has contributed to the development and progress of Bangladesh by serving as Prime Minister three times. The countrymen are now waiting for the return of the statesman and leader of the people, Tarique Rahman. We believe that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP will form the government by winning a huge vote in the next national election and that BNP’s acting chairperson, Mr. Tarique Rahman, will be able to establish Bangladesh on a new peak of development and progress by becoming the Prime Minister.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, when Associate Professor Dr. Sheikh Farhad, Honorary Proctor of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU), arrived at the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport in the United States with his family on Thursday, August 21, 2025, he was greeted by Engineer Main Uddin Miyaji, General Secretary of the Nationalist Diploma Engineers Association of Bangladesh (DEAB) USA Branch, and Saiduzzaman Rinku, President of Friends Society USA.
